• Dr. J.S.R completed MBBS with 32 Gold medals, MS & Dip N.B Surgery as Gold Medalist. He also completed FRCS in Edinburgh, FRCS in England, FRCS (Glasgow), FRCS (Ireland).
• In 2004 Dr. JSR received one of the country’s highest awards – Vaidya Ratna Award from Ved Vyas Sabha
• “Dr. K.S. Sanjivi Award”to young Doctors with Social Commitment for outstanding health and medicare services to poor and needy.
• In 2006 he was awarded “Rotarian. Dr. N.C. Raghavachari Award” for Exemplary Service to the Community – Health.
• He also received “Seva Ratna Award” – recognizing service to the society by PR Syndicate. These awards not only reflect the widespread recognition of his achievements, but also encourage and strengthen his belief in serving the community
Books Authorised:
1. In 2001, he co-authored a text book “Scientific Basis of Surgical Practice” along with Prof. C.M.K. Reddy. This has been used extensively by under graduates and post graduates across India.
2. A complete treatise on GERD (the first book on GERD in India) with local Indian Statistics and local Indian authors which was launched by the Health Minister of TN in June 2006.
3. Based on his pioneering work in the field of Laparoscopic anti reflux Surgeries (Toupet), he has written the first comprehensive Indian treatise on reflux disease titled Current management of GERD, co-authored by Dr. Shanthi Vijayaraghavan.
4. He has co-authored a CD on “Clinical Signs in Surgery” with Prof. C.M.K. Reddy which was released by His Excellency Dr. K. Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu in April 2012.
5. He has also co-authored a book on “Short Cases in Surgery including Orthopaedics” with Prof. C.M.K Reddy which was released by the Hon’ble Dr. V.S. Vijay, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Tamil Nadu on 21st November 2012.
