CONFERENCE ON TRANSORAL LASER SURGERY IN EARLY LARYNGEAL LESIONS
After three successful editions, the H&N Surgical Oncology team at Cytecare Hospital organized the fourth edition of Cancon 2022, a two-day conference on Laser Surgery in the management of early laryngeal lesions. The theme of Cancon 2022 was 'Transoral Laser Surgery in Early Laryngeal Lesions'. The Conference had participants from across the globe (both online and online).
The initiative by Cytecare hospital was to provide an OPPORTUNITY for ENT doctors, postgraduates, residents, practicing surgeons & trainees related to the Head & Neck field to understand the advancements in the field.
The first day witnessed houseful participation with back-to-back live surgeries addressing live queries from the faculty members and participants. Followed by didactic lectures, discussion on real-life experiences, and interactive Q & A sessions.
On the second day, a hands-on workshop on office-based flexible laryngoscopy and laser was conducted, which enlightened and allowed the participants to get real exposure to stimulated modules using the laser technology, followed by online lectures on various topics like radiotherapy on early glottic cancers.

"First time ever I have witnessed live surgery and experienced the treatment procedure so closely on transoral laser surgery. It was a pleasure to be part of this informative conference", said Saloni Desai, a postgraduate student from Mysore.
On day 2, the didactic lectures were given by Dr. Cesare Piazza and Dr. Sudha. And Dr. Sudha's model for laryngoscope was very fascinating and commendable. Cytecare also offered hands-on sessions to surgeons for almost three hours which is the kind of exposure that usually isn't offered by any of the other cancer hospitals. Prof. Carsten was very friendly and approachable and his good sense of humor made the whole live surgery experience fun and less distressing.
